Caiman Smart Winch
The Reach Systems Caiman Smart Winch is a compact, motorized winch designed for deploying and retrieving battery-powered sensors and devices from Unmanned Surface Vessels (USVs), smart buoys, and small manned vessels.
Weighing just 8.6 kg (19 lb) without cable and measuring only 254 mm (10 in.) high, the Caiman provides substantial cable capacity in a compact package. It is well suited for deployment of CTDs, Sound Velocity Profilers (SVPs), environmental DNA (eDNA) sensors, hydrophones, and other marine instrumentation.
The Caiman features an intuitive web-based control interface and an available API, allowing operators to automate sensing operations using existing wireless networks and locally available power. An optional observation camera provides real-time monitoring of winch activity through the web interface.
