Pressure Activated Switch for End Caps

Global Ocean Design Pressure Activated Switch for End Caps PAS-321

The Global Ocean Design Pressure Activated Switch for End Caps (PAS-321) is designed to turn instruments on or off automatically after deployment. The switch can be configured for either surface-on or depth-on operation, providing a simple way to control subsea equipment based on ambient pressure.

As the switch descends below approximately 2–5 atmospheres, it changes to the alternate position. When returned to the surface, the switch automatically toggles back to its initial position. Its patented design is capable of withstanding overpressure up to 1,225 atmospheres.

Constructed from Ti 6-4 titanium for strength and corrosion resistance, the PAS-321 is designed for installation in end caps and is pressure tested to 10,000 psi. Testing to 18,000 psi is available at an additional cost.

Documentation

The Global Ocean Design Pressure Activated Switch for End Caps (PAS-321) provides automatic pressure-based switching for instruments installed in subsea end-cap applications. Contact Ocean Innovations for pricing, availability, configuration requirements, or technical assistance.

Note: An MCBH-280 adapter fitting is recommended when installing the PAS-321 in an end cap made from a less noble material to help electrically isolate the titanium switch body and prevent galvanic corrosion.

Pressure Testing: Standard units are pressure tested to 10,000 psi. Testing to 18,000 psi is available at an additional cost.
