Purge Port for Glass Spheres

The Purge Port for Glass Spheres (PP-101) is a patented, self-sealing purge port designed for use with Global Ocean Design glass spheres. When used with a compatible purge system, it allows moisture to be removed from the sphere and provides a convenient method for leak testing before deployment. 

Once the purge connection is removed, an internal check valve automatically seals the purge port and maintains the partial vacuum inside the sphere. This provides additional time for cleaning, inspecting, and installing the sphere and O-ring before final assembly. 

Constructed with Ti 6-4 titanium for all components exposed to seawater, the PP-101 is individually pressure tested to 10,000 psi and can be supplied for deeper depth ratings by contacting the factory.

Installation Specifications

• Requires a 7/16 in. (29/64 in. diameter) thru-hole with a 1 in. spotface
• 3/4 in. wrench flats on cap
• 1 in. wrench flats on the body for installation
• Interior fastener hardware includes nylon and stainless steel flat washers, a stainless steel lock washer, and a hex jam nut
• Body O-ring: 2-018-70
• Cap O-ring: 2-015-70
