Magnetically Activated Switch for Glass Spheres

Global Ocean Design Magnetically Activated Switch for Glass Spheres MAS-151

The Global Ocean Design Magnetically Activated Switch for Glass Spheres (MAS-151) provides a simple way to turn a system on or off before deployment without opening the pressure housing. A neodymium magnet is used to activate the internal switch, allowing equipment inside the glass sphere to be controlled externally.

A normally open-common-normally closed (SPDT) reed switch is housed inside the Ti 6-4 titanium body. The bright orange screw-on cap contains the activating magnet and is used to operate the switch before deployment.

Key Features

  • Magnetically activated switching for equipment housed in glass spheres
